So many other libertarian educators

Fifteen years ago I thought that Lib Ed and Summerhill and Sands School were the only surviving representatives of a truly rational attempt to redefine education. Since then I have learnt of many many schools and organisations around the world that share similar ideals. A good many of them are listed, with brief descriptions and their web sites, here. But I keep on hearing of new initiatives, or old initiatives that I just hadn't hear of before.

My latest new discovery of an old initiative is the Korczak movement, that is making sure that Janusz Korczak, the Polish educator who chose to die at Treblinka rather than desert his pupils, is still remembered, along with his books and his loving and authentic relationship with children.

What I am trying to illustrate is that there are many people and movements which share libertarian ideas about education. Many of them feel isolated because they simply do not know about all that is going on. We need to get to know each other.
